bright clean room, excellent outdoor location, spacious family accommodation
The pool closed at 5pm, which is quite early for a hotel!!! No adjustment on pricing during the Boardmasters weekend seemed unfair considering limited facilities!!!

fantastic central stay near the beach and gardens
I loved how I could easily stroll to the amazing Tolcarne Beach, just about 500 meters away, and enjoy the peaceful Trenance Gardens and Cottages which were perfect for a relaxing walk during my stay. The hotel had a nice view over the sea and was close to everything I wanted to explore, making it an ideal spot for my weekend getaway.

Decent location near local attractions. Rooms functioned well enough for an overnight stay, providing basic amenities that served our purpose. Clean bedding added a small touch of comfort amidst the overall simplicity.
The hotel felt a bit dated, with rooms lacking modern comforts like air conditioning or effective ventilation, especially on warmer days. Breakfast fell short of expectations, advertised as buffet but delivered as a limited table service with minimal choice—cornflakes hardly count as a spread. Limited hours on bar service left us thirsty after 6 PM, and the entertainment options relied heavily on coach parties instead of catering to families or younger guests. Room lighting issues made navigating the space a bit of a puzzle, and the general feel was more of a budget stop than a cozy retreat.

The family room with a balcony provided ample space for two adults and older children, making it a comfortable choice for our stay. The sweeping views were a highlight, as was the hotel's proximity to local attractions, all within walking distance. Daily housekeeping was commendable, ensuring our tea and coffee supplies were always replenished. the entertainment options fell short. some evenings lacked engaging activities compared to expectations. areas near the pool felt a bit neglected despite its inviting appearance.
